    Default July 9: Wanna Cookie?

Today is International Town Criers Day: Now I have known many town criers in time. Many of them live currently in my house; those who can turn the waterworks on at will. HOWEVER wikipedia had a different description. Honestly sounds like our newsmen of the day. Okay, except for the way they are supposed to dress.:

A town crier, or bellman, is an officer of the court who makes public pronouncements as required by the court (cf. Black's Law Dictionary). The crier can also be used to make public announcements in the streets. Criers often dress elaborately, by a tradition dating to the 18th century, in a red and gold robe, white breeches, black boots and a tricorne hat.
In food it is National Sugar cookie Day: SO, I would just like to point out that these taste GREAT with a side of Dr. Pepper. This might even be breakfast this morning!

It is Monday again! Hope you have a great one!

The heat wave is supposed to be cooling off here starting today. Thank goodness! I had two outdoor events to attend this weekend in 100 degree temps. Thankfully, they both were in close proximity to a pool.

Hope your week has started off fabulously!

Sugar cookies sound wonderful today! I had a strawberry pop tart! blah! I guess it served its purpose until lunch time...lol
It has been hot and humid here too, but it looks like the lots of people are seeing the temps we had last year at this time...we needed a break from them, last year was soooooo brutal on our yard and trees it was awful. We had two trees that had been there for years die completely. And tons of my monkey grass also died and I didn't think anything could kill that stuff...lol
I am finally feeling like I am making some progress at work too, only a few pages left of a 64 page catalog...wooohoo. Then comes the tweaking and proof reading part...lol
I had a pretty decent weekend, worked getting some stuff done there, but did get to talk to all four of our big kids over the weekend at various times. Love getting to chat with them about whatever, miss those days when they were at home and they would sit and talk my ear off...lol
Getting back to scrapping a few more minutes til lunch is over! HUgs all for a wondermous Monday!

Oh, do pass the Dr. Pepper! My grandmother used to keep bottles of it in her refrigerator, one of those old ones with the compressor on top. There was one area where it got really cold, and sometimes the Dr. Pepper would partially freeze....Dr. Pepper slush..yummy! I don't even need the sugar cookie with it, but I would love a big hunk of that pound cake she always had on hand.

I know what ya mean! My grannie always had yummy sour cream pound cake and she would buy a coke to put in her fridge because she knew we drank that when we came to see her. She was offer us one of her "Tab" colas, but those were sugar free and tasted horrible to me...lol
Remember these? Haven't seen it in years.

I'm a crier. I cry at just about anything and I have done it in town before. It's Monday and I've already accomplished something without even trying! Yay!

I would have loved a sugar cookie for breakfast. ......I had pineapple upsidedown cake instead. But atleast I got some scrapping done before work.

I remember TAB hated it.....but loved Citra the lemon/lime floaty pop. It always had fruit pulp floating in it....but was yummy.

Luckily our heat finally broke and it was only 90 today here, we got to 107 over the weekend. Thankfully work was totally dead, so atleast people stayed indoors once we got that hot. Supposed to be mid 90's all week!!! Yeah!!!

TAB got taken off the market due to the amounts of sodium saccharin, it held....At least that is what my mother told me....since she was addicted to the stuff while I was growing up

Glad work was calm in the heat. Sometimes that kind of weather brings out the worst in people. BUT I am even happier for the cooler weather for you!

Nope, Tab is still around. It is just in limited markets. They had to put warning labels on it due to saccharine for a long time but even those were removed.
