Default Two Requests: for someone young & someone old!

I have two prayer requests! Both from members of my work family. I do some part time work for a home appraiser, whenever her normal assistant can't work.

This last week, my boss was able to bring her mom home for the holiday week. Her mom has Alzheimer's, and has gone from like 130 to 81lbs in the last year/18mo. They changed homes, which helped a little bit. In the 10-something days that her mom was with her, she gained almost five pounds!!! By taking her home, my boss was able to get her medication list and saw she was basically being doped up -- there was no reason for half of the stuff she was on. Plus, all the medication was keeping her from putting on weight. So after talking to a nurse friend & having me watch her mom for a day for another opinion, she was able to approach the home and get everything changed for the better!! PTL!!!
So, many prayers that her mom will continue to improve and be able to live out the rest of her life comfortably and in a home that will love on her.

The second request is for the family of the main assistant at work, she just came back from her honeymoon to find out that her 3mo old niece has leukemia! Little Lauryn started chemo today. It's unbelievable that someone so young can already have such a battle to fight!
Little Lauryn and her family need to be covered in prayer to fight & overcome this disease!!! PTL that they were able to catch this disease before it was able to take more control of her small body.

Still praying for her. What a trial for all of them. I hope that by now they understand what happened?

Prayers for both. I know you are in CA, but do they know about St. Jude in Memphis, TN? It is the best for childhood leukemia. They even help with the cost to a large extent.

    Major Prayer Action Needed!!!

My boss's mom was taken to the hospital a few days ago... she had lost 14 lbs, bringing her down to 70lbs!!!!!

Not only did she have more drastically weight loss, her bowels were compacted. So, the home where she's at was checking off that she was having consistent BM's, when she wasn't. If they had just given her some doses of Miralax & been honest, she never would of gotten this bad! I guess she had a procedure to remove the largest blockage, but they think there's still more. They were supposed to do an xray today, but didn't!!! The attitude at the hospital is to just let her die, that the family is prolonging the inevitable. Words out of the hospital social worker's mouth!!!!!!!!!! Other than forgetting things every ten minutes, her mom's mind is fine. She hasn't had health problems until this home and the last! And all of those health problems are because they're not feeding her!!!
So, they're putting in a temporary g-tube to get her weight back up, and they want to move her to a better place. Problem is, all of the places recommended by an advocate, are at their limit with g-tube residents.

She needs prayer for her recovery, I'm afraid that if she's in the hospital any longer she'll get an infection or get sick. My boss also needs prayer, because her brother is handling most of the things (he's unemployed, so he's been spending his time between interviews working on this) ... and he said some things to the advocate that my boss doesn't exactly agree with. He basically said he doesn't agree with taking further action against the home, but... the point I made to my boss was... if they don't take action, this is going to happen again to another family!

My boss will be going down there on Sunday or Monday, so I'll have another update around then.
