August 24 - Happy National Peach Pie Day

My granny makes some awesome peach pie, and today we have a counter full of them. With vanilla ice cream to go on top of course, and if you'd really like a gourment treat, drizzle a little caramel sauce over the top.
For breakfast, it's National Waffle Day, so choose your toppings. I think I'll have a chocolate chip pecan waffle with maple syrup.

It's also Vesuvius Day, the 1930th anniversary of Pompei and Herculaneum being wiped out by the volcano, and Knife Day. I won't even make any suggestions on how to celebrate that one.

It's also the first day of school here.

<sigh> I miss the smileys.

MMMMM....pecan waffles for me and peach pie ala mode for dessert. The local Lions club just delivered our fresh peaches last week so a homemade pie might be in order. If there are any leftovers I'll leave them in here. (But I wouldn't hold your breath).

Happy first day of school Kelly! A day I think should be a National Holiday for moms!

I think I'll just save time and calories and drizzle the caramel sauce on my tongue. Or maybe there needs to be a caramel macchiato in my day...

Oh, and btw, if you haven't tried the Dove caramel chocolates, um, you should.

Mmmmm, I LOVE caramel macchiato's!! Of course, I also love peach pie, peaches, waffles, caramel syrup...

Today could get to be a little fattening!!!

Oh-and the Knife day thing, my DH would be happy there was such a thing! LOL He is obsessive about his knives and their care, sharpness and cleaning!!

Mmmm... I'l take a waffle with some strawberries and whipped cream, please!! I'll have my peach pie later today! I wish we could celebrate first day of school here but, we have 3 more years til that one! I am feeling like I need to take the day to recover from our weekend road trip! So, I think a mid morning bath is in my future, as soon as I can drag hubby's butt out of bed!
