Hello PDW scrappers!

I found PDW via Jen Maddocks...I am on her Creative Team and have been loading layouts into the gallery, but just got my forum account approved this weekend, so here I am!

I live in northern California and count digital scrapping among my many crafty hobbies. I've been a professional quilt pattern designer and love to sew, knit and crochet, do artist trading cards, mixed media, mosaics, traditional scrapbooking, painting...did I leave anything out?

Oh and I blog about it all here:
http://dwquiltart.blogspot.com/

By "day" I am a software engineering contractor, but get to mostly work from home, which means I can "craft" when I take my lunch break :-)

My scrappy style can be all over the place, as I love so many styles, but am happiest with graphic and grungy artsy blended layouts, and I love Jen's products for helping me to get this look :-)

Happy to be here and look forward to getting to know you all better!

Diane

Thanks for all the kind comments on my craftiness :-) I cannot take any credit for design of the wreath...instruction link is posted on my blog...I just executed. I just can't say enough about how quick and easy that was to make, and it is so stunning in person...makes quite a statement on the front door. I am looking forward to doing one in red for Christmas.

The mosaic is on a barbeque island in my back yard. It's 11 feet wide by about 30" tall and is almost complete, at least with the tiling...then I have to grout. It's a bit of a whim project...I worry about what people will think when we sell this house, but that is a future problem, and until then, I am going to enjoy my masterpiece every time I look at it :-)

I've never been to Wisconsin, and probably would not know how to mosaic for the cold there :-)

Jen, enjoy Disneyland!! One of my favorite places on earth :-) We are headed to Disney World and Harry Potter World for Christmas, so I expect lots of pics to scrap with...hint hint...make me a Christmas kit please :-)

Oh an Jenni...shiny object identifier...love that! :-) My husband says I'm like a bird, drawn to shiny objects on the ground, which I pick up and store in little treasure boxes :-)

Hi Diane, welcome to the wacky world of PDW. Also one of the friendliest places around. Sorry it took me so long to welcome you-been babysitting the grands and catching up. Enjoyed reading your blog.
I'm a little familiar with your part to the country. My sister lives in Mountain View. Love visiting her there!
Happy scrapping!

Thanks for all the welcomes, and for all who took a look at my blog...means a lot to me that someone reads it...ha ha! I love to talk about my crafting, and although my daughter also loves crafty, I don't get to talk to her as much as I would like (like hours every day :-)) and my dear husband indulges me, but still, you know, crafty people need to talk about it.

So, just a bit about the mosaic wall...it's the front of a barbeque island, 11 feet long, 30" high. It was plain beige, and the paint was peeling. Now it is a mosaic masterpiece. Took me about 4-6 weeks to complete. It's amazing to look at! I can stare for hours :-)

DJ, oh yes, Mountain View is just 20 minutes on the freeway :-) My hair dresser is there, so I go every 5 weeks :-)

Sorry I am not here more...so many things to do!
