September 23 - A Pirate's Best Friend

Aye, today be Chocolate Day. We shanghaied a French pastry chef off a fancy yacht and he be whippin us up some of the finest chocolate confections ever dreamed of. It's also Checkers Day, so we be havin a tournament later on the foredeck. It's also Dogs in Politics Day, so we'll celebrate by liberatin the island's English gov'nor of his hounds.

(Useless information - Richard Nixon had a dog named Checkers. Franklin Roosevelt actually had 7 dogs while he lived in the White House, which explains why the carpet still smells in the Blue Room. One of them was so famous for accompanying the President during his daily duties that the dog Fala became the subject of a Hollywood documentary about a day in his life and was named an honorary Army private. Fala also donated the first dollar to the war effort during WW2, which is why he is depicted on the FDR memorial)

Mmmmmm..... chocolate.... Definitely the way I want to start my day. Yummm!!!

I think we should go back and count how many days are connected to chocolate. Others must like it as much as I do. LOL I'd be happy if every day was Chocolate day. OK off to find some chocolate.

Yummy! I need a chocolate day! DH has been sick, he spent 85% of the day yesterday asleep on the couch and stayed home from work last night. He's been banned to the couch so DS and I can try avoiding getting sick.

I'm hoping he's feeling better today so I can sit and scrap a bit!! :)

I was thinking the same thing, LOL!!!

Today is DH and my 6th Anniversary, and chocolate will be top of the list as always! DH is a total Chocoholic!

And Alley is not in politics, but she did find her new home yesterday with a yard and a new mom who stays at home...I miss her but am very happy for her! The going over the waterfall wall to randomly take off the past 2 weeks I fostered her was just too much!!
