June 21 - It's Summer

Apparently with today being the first day of summer, there are all kinds of reasons for you to be out of the air conditioning. It's Go Skate Day. It's Ride Your Motorcycle to Work Day. And it's National Daylight Appreciation Day.

It's World Handshake Day. Keep a towel with you, sweaty palms, you know.

It's Baby Boomer Recognition Day. I have a lot of them for patients. Unfortunately, half of them don't recognize too many people.

It's Ann and Samantha Day. This is a day promoted by a group that wants to get Ann Frank and Samantha Smith featured on postage stamps for their humanitarian efforts.

In food today, it's National Peaches and Cream Day. :piesmile:

And in our celebrity birthdays, Prince William is 28.

Technically I'm a boomer but I think the last 5 years is iffy. However, since it suits me to have it be my day, I'm gonna go with it :)

In the meantime off to take DH to the airport. I had to get dressed before noon, but I'll have the car all to myself for 3 days, LOL. Gotta look for the good where you can find it.

I was a huge Durannie back in the day. Wow, they are getting old! lol

The kids are at a camp for three hours every day this week. I am a little giddy at the thought of 3 hours to myself. It's not the 6.5 hours I get during the school year, but I'lll take it! I happen to drive back past a Starbuck's, so I treated myself to an iced chai tea latte.

How about a National Statistics Day, or National Writing Day? My day will be filled with running statistics and revising a paper (love the stats, hate the writing).

In your list, I've got nothing. However, LOVE the photos of Prince William AND Duran Duran. It is good that the Royal family got some new blood in the line.

Statistics Day is June 29. You just have to put your reports off for a week or so. Writing Day is in October.

So, they say that today is the first day of summer, but we haven't even gotten out of a late spring here! I so long for the sunshine and warmth! Mother Nature is pissed at someone and taking it out on us!! I will appreciate the daylight today though...but probably from the seat of my office chair as I sit on my arse scrapping, got the blinds up! :)
