I am new to the digital scrapbook thing & am wondering, what do I do with my 12x12 layouts? I want to put them in page protectors in my binder.

Hi Jen :) I only print 8x8, but I've been getting mine done at Persnickety Prints and have been extremely happy with the quality. They will print 12x12. Some day I'm going to get up the courage to print some that size as well :)

I have only done books so I am no help unless you are interested in going that route.

I have a print pricing chart I did a while back (although there are some new ones that have come up since I last updated it in October that I am not sure are on there, like Persnickety) which list many of the popular single page and book printers along with their standard prices. It is here (http://www.box.net/shared/s854yya4x2)if you want to compare some pricing.

Hi Jen! Welcome to PDW!!!

I have gotten my pages printed at Scrapping Simply and most recently Persnickity Prints. I have liked the quality from both places and their prices are the same.

I really like Persnickity Prints - I put my 8x8 pages in protectors and then in a loose leaf binder.

I have gotten prints from Costco and Scrapping Simply. Both were great, but Scrapping Simply is cheaper. I just put them in a scrapbook album in page protectors.

So far I've only had books printed, at ArtsCow and Shutterfly. One of these days I want to get some single prints to put into an album but I'm scared. :)

Yeah, I have to say that the book idea scares me more than prints. Isn't it funny? Although the idea of seeing a layout at 12 by 12 does scare me a little.

I have seen a couple of books that a friend has done, and they were absolutely marvelous. My biggest problem is keeping that much focus and concentration for such a large project.

Yep, that the problem I have. I see these email deals for a cheap book but then I only have a day or two to put it together to get the good price, and it's just too many decisions in a short time!

LOL, yes.

I have used artscow and shutterfly for my books. I have yet to try Persnickety for a book, but will soon. I also have heard amazing things with Adoramapix expensive, but worth it (according to the reviews)

I won the comp for Persnickety Prints in May. My prints - all 12x12 - are amazing. I received 25 prints and every single one of them is amazing. Colour is true to my laptop monitor (ie what I think they should look like), clarity is spot on. I love that when you upload your files, they tell you whether or not they will print at the chosen size. They are well packed and arrived in my Australian country mailbox within 2 weeks of posting in US (Aus mail sometimes takes a week to my mailbox). Postage cost for me will work out at about $0.50 extra a print (depends on fluctuating exchange rates) so better quality than I have seen here at a much better price. My next order is ready to go.

Oh, I print also on the wonderful a4 colour printer my wonderful family bought me for my last big number birthday- and that costs me more per print as photo paper is expensive- so I print to 12 x 12 shiny white scrapbook paper. Gives a matte not glossy appearance, but still a great print.

I print at home on my HP printer...very happy with the results (using glossy brochure paper rather than photo paper...looks like a magazine). However, I only print 8x8, 4x8 skinnies or 8.5x11 pages...dont know if you consider going that route...it would be easy to design your pages 12x12 then shrink down to 8x8.

Personally, I like the instant gratification of printing from home :)

I've wondered about the brochure paper, but I always thought I wanted mine non-shiny. Hmmm. May have to experiment ;)

First of all, I use to print at home... never again! You guys have no idea how much you are spending in ink! I have an Epson 4000, and was spending about $1.59 per 8x8, and $2.39 per 12x12, PLUS, these pages are not archival, or water proof, or very good color for that matter! I can always see the ink lines/laser head.
OK, so after reading all of your wonderful suggestions I decided to send around the SAME files to:
1. Costco
2. Scrapping Simply
3. Persnickety Prints
The Winner? Persnickety Prints.com (http://ww.persnicketyprints.com) by a mile!
Costco, i don't even want to waste my time typing about (images darker + blurry, not sharp at all+ major border cut offs)
Scrapping Simply, well, it took a week for them to respond to me about why I couldn't even get their uploader to work (apparently I needed to download a newer version of some software?). Then, when I finally got my prints, I was missing 2 pages, and the ones I received had major bleed (border) issues.
PersnicketyPrints: perfect from beginning to end. Easy upload, got my pages within 2 days, layouts are gorgeous! Every border is immaculate!
I am in love. You guys are missing out! I want to scrap more, more, more just so i can get another huge order in!

I print at My Pic Tales (www.mypictales.com). They have great prices and I've never had a problem with prints. I also do my calendars there. I love what I get from them. There is a sale going on right now. Buy $100 in prints get a $100 gift cert for your next order.

Books... I've ordered some 8x8 books for my kids' teachers from ArtsCow, and they are great for FREE. The pages are a little flimsy, but everyone loves their books. I've ordered portrait prints from them as well, and they are great!

I've also printed with Scrapbooks To Share (http://www.sbtoshare.com/Place_Order.htm). They do test prints for you, so you can see what their printing is like on the different papers.
