Today is International Pardon Day. So if you're holding any political prisoners or competition for your spouse's affection in the dungeon, be a sport and let them go today.

It's also World Literacy Day. Another good excuse to blow off housework and read a book.

In food, it's Date Nut Bread Day. I made some, just for the occaision, but I was in a biscuit mood, so we also have home made biscuits, with my granny's homemade apple butter, pear preserves, and strawberry jam, fresh honey from the farmer's market, and of course, sausage gravy.

Happy (ugh!) Tuesday after the long weekend!

I had a morning of delayed coffee. Apparently the GFI thingie in the kitchen flipped and so there was no power to the coffeemaker. And I hadn't had coffee, so I was slow to figure out why it wouldn't work...

I think I need a nap after all that effort :) well, maybe after ONE biscuit...

I hear ya....After spending the past several days at my parents' house I wok up expecting the smell of coffee already in the air. Imagine my dissapointment when I realized I had to make it myself.

Mmmm... Biscuits and gravy! It's just like any other Tuesday around here, hubby had to work last night... Every Monday, they print one of the weekly gossip magazines which never take a break so, any holiday that falls on Monday, means nothing vacation wise. That is, until they switch back to days. They don't get the plates until around 9pm so, Monday's night shift is the first in for the week... Off to enjoy the little bit more time of being the only one awake in the house!

sigh...weekend over. lol.

I really am not a person who holds grudges (I try sometimes, but never really succeed - which sucks with those really mean people), so in honor of today - here goes!

I humbly and very sincerely apologize to all of "YOU" if I have at any point offended anyone. I would never do so intentionally.

Does that count? lol...but I do mean it!

And date nut bread...yum. I actually have dates, so I am going to go look for a yummy recipe! I haven't baked in a few weeks, it is about time.

Pardon someone...hmm who shall it be? Maybe DH, or more than likely the 4-legged creatures that live with me. Webster has decided that he likes tic tacs, and I've had a heck of a time keeping them out of his reach. When he stands on his hind legs he's taller than I am lol.

Oh well..if he gets one at least his breath will be minty fresh, right?
