Today is May Day! Different countries have different local customs for celebrating this day, but one common one is that you are supposed to hang a basket of flowers on your neighbor's door without being seen. If they see you, you have to give them a kiss. Does anyone have Paul Walker's address? :flirty2:
It's also Lei Day. Azaleas make good ones, in case you get really ambitious and decide to make some, instead of just buying plastic ones at the dollar store.
It's Mother Goose Day.
It's Free Comic Book Day. Comic shops across the country are supposed to be giving away free books to anyone who wants one.
It's Martin Z Mollusk Day. If he sees his shadow at 11am today in Ocean City, NJ, summer will come early. Didn't we already do this with a groundhog?
It's Loyalty Day. You're supposed to be loyal to your country today. It was started in the 1920's when Communism was on the rise.
It's Save the Rhino Day. It doesn't say what we're saving them from. Bad hair days? Don't laugh - have you ever seen a rhino's hair?
It's Law Day. Does that mean we have to put up with lawyers?
It's Executive Coaching Day. Does that mean like the guys who sit in the airconditioned boxes at the ball games and call orders down to the field?
It's National Home Brew Day. You know that's a big fad now, to make your own alcohol. My relatives used to get in trouble for it.
It's School Principal Day. On a Saturday? A coincidence? I think not. Hey, does that count for Lisa and Anne, since they homeschool?
It's Stepmother Day. I gotta call mine.
It's Space Day. Are they talking about Outer Space, or the famous breakup speech?
It's New Homeowner's Day. If we have any, congratulations.
It's Join Hands Day. We're supposed to go out and work with others to make a difference in our community.
In food, it's Chocolate Parfait Day.
But.......best of all, it's interNational Scrapbooking Day! Our store is on sale, and there will be an extra special edition of the World's Slowest Speed Scrap tonight at 10pm Eastern. Lots of prizes and goodies just for popping in!
