Today, in 753 BC, Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus.

In 1918, Manfred Von Richtofen, aka the Red Baron, was shot down. There is some controversy over who actually shot him down, with three pilots and a ground based anti-aircraft gunner all claiming credit, but it is generally accepted that it was not a white dog with black ears flying a doghouse. Sing it with me "10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more, the Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score..."

Today is Kindergarten Day. If you've been there, you've learned All You Really Need to Know. (http://www.peace.ca/kindergarten.htm)

Today is Secretary Day. If you have one, do something nice for them. If you are one, here's to you.

Today is National Chocolate Covered Cashew Truffle Day. Big improvement over lima beans.

Happy Birthday today to Queen Elizabeth and Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys.

He's cute, but I still like Peyton Manning.

Did you know Duke University has a football team? Me neither. Wow, look at them, and they have brains if they go to Duke.

Here is a website (http://jasoninhollywood.blogspot.com/2009/07/hot-gods-with-hot-bods-for-july.html) with some pitures of European footballers that are not appropriate for work. Check out the summer of 2009 posts.

And a huge belated

:) well good morning everyone!

CCCTruffles are pretty yummy, I could use some today! It is my Monday and I am walking to work...not so bad, but I have a flat tire and am arguing with Les Swab over it.

Anyway, happy Wednesday!

I don't know, I'm about as much of a fan of cashews as I am of lima beans! I do have some chocolate covered pomegranates, so maybe I'll make a substitution!

I kind of get a kick out of them saying that TODAY is the day Rome was founded. I mean, we all know that Rome wasn't built in a day, so... did they just get the permit today? Did they draw up the plans today? Did they have a twinkle in the back of the eye about starting Rome today? Excuse me, I guess that should have been a GLITTER in their eye...

Anyway, I think I'll skip all of it and have pasta for dinner to celebrate Rome Day.

Or is it Romo Day? Man, I'm getting myself all confused here.

KELLY< I found you guys a new accountant.

Mmmm, I need to find a candy store!! I'll take Romo as eye candy but, I'd rather watch Manning play!! :) Just got an email this morning from the NFL site that schedules are up so, season countdown starts today!! LOL

Lisa, that's just sad!! Did you make sure to point her mistake out to her? We were up around 6:30 this morning which is early for us but, since DS was asleep around 7:30 last night, I won't complain!!

I will, however, complain about the weather... it's SNOWING!! AGAIN!! UGH

I have now joined the insane walkers club. I walked in rain and gust of wind..to make sure I did it. What happened to the woman 5 weeks ago that was making excuses? ha ha...perhaps, the joy of one hour laughing to local radio podcast versus children discussing in whispers and irratation on whose turn it is to wash the counters has made my choice easier!
I have almost figured out how to do my ipod!

wow what a sale there Lisa!

and officially 13 pounds, the scale finally moved again...and I didn't even make myself hypervenilate...
(just in case all that air in my lungs was heavy)

Just checking in now - I can definitely used some chocolate covered cashews (truffle version or not). We had our window replaced that was broken and leaking and against my better judgement, I didn't get everything out of the room that wasn't nailed down. I went in to look at the room and EVERYTHING is covered in dust. :( Kicking myself for not listening to the little voice that was telling me to take it all out. We spent an hour and a half making a dent in all the dust covered stuff but since he is coming back tomorrow to sand and paint, there is only so much I can do.

DH - not seeing the dust, tells me I am imagining it in places that he can't see it. THEN he does the "white glove test" with his finger and hmmmm.... dust where he swore it wasn't. I win. I know what I will be doing for the next few days until I get the majority of it cleaned up. *sigh* And the air conditioner was running and I am seeing this white dust in other places around the house. *sigh*

Where were those chocolate covered cashews again??

Hurray it is Kindergarten Day! Being a kindergarten teacher I think it is appropriate to have Chocolate Covered Cashew Truffles for snack! i definitely wouldn't serve lima beans. :)
