September 6 - Perfect for a Holiday Weekend

Today is National Read a Book Day. And it's National Coffee Ice Cream Day. Sounds like a winning combination to me. LOL

Hey, and if it's coffee ice cream, it counts as breakfast food, right?

But it's Sunday, so we need a big breakfast today. The omelet bar is open. Grits are simmering on the back of the stove, and we have bacon, sausage, ham, and turkey bacon for the people who think that's food. Dr Pepper is cold.

MMMM...A mushroom and cheese omelet for me. To all those turkey bacon eaters out there: regular bacon is the better choice. The two have the same calories and fat content, but turkey bacon is higher in sodium. I saw that on t.v. last week so it has to be true right!:D

Off to the fair today to watch my nephew show steers.:moo: This is the last year for our state fair in it's current location. Next year they will be moving it closer to our home, but it will be in a town where we have no relatives so we will have to stay in a motel. Ick! My husband won the steer show one year so he is kind of sad to see the whole venue being torn down. He has delegated picture taking to me. I find it amazing how two people can have such different interests and still seem to stay married. Although my time recent time spent on the computer is beginning to test his patience.

Oooo I am so down with read a book day, although coffee flavored ice cream, blah (I am one of those elusive, rare creatures that hates coffee, coffee flavored items.) Quick take a picture before I scamper away! You really want to catch me lay out some Dt Dr Pepper under a box with a stick under it, I like sticks, ooo shiny.

I'm with Xandra on the coffee thing, just give me a good cup of tea! Wish I had time to read a book! Daughter's family coming for dinner tonight. The corn is ready. Anyone want a zucchini muffin-I made a bunch yesterday.

I hate coffee flavored things, sorry! I bite into one of the jelly belly jelly beans that are coffee flavored and it gets spit out so fast, YUCK! I love to read tho - no time today since we will be visiting with family. I read one a couple of days ago so that will have to do.
