January 11 - Houston, we have a problem

Today is Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day. The puddles here are frozen solid. It's 23 freakin degrees. But it is supposed to get up to 50 today and be warmer all week. So that it can do this again next week. This is not funny.

In food, it's National Milk Day and National Hot Toddy Day. That we can do. In fact, if this cold trend continues, you could do well investing in Swiss Miss. My kids have consumed enough hot cocoa to float a battleship in the past week.

Slow day for holidays but busy day for me. Off to dialysis and then to Grandma Betty.

We had a heat wave yesterday, 41F! My youngest actually tried to leave the house in flip flops. I guess when you've gotten used to sub-zero weather 41 DOES feel like summer. Have a great day everyone!

LOL, Annette. I remember when I was a kid in Montana, walking home from school and thinking it was warm enough to take my coat off... turns out it was around zero and my mother had a fit. But it DID seem warm after 3 weeks of 20 below! At least we got chinook winds and the temperature would go from 20 below to 45 above in about an hour... that never happened when we lived in Minnesota. I kept waiting for the snow to melt in between storms...

But before I get carried away and say that I had to walk to and from school in nine feet of snow uphill both ways, I'll just focus on the Swiss Miss and go fix breakfast :)

Stupid computer geek doesn't have my computer finished. Just another reason why I'm in love with "Chuck", I bet he doesn't make a girl wait for 6+ weeks to get her computer fixed.
