This post is part of a series on our blog that will introduce you to the designers and team members that work behind the scenes at Plain Digital Wrapper to make it a fun-loving, digi-family. We would love to get to know you better as well, so if you aren’t already hanging out with us in the forum, please take a moment to say good morning to us, introduce yourself, and find some inspiration from our many challenges!

This week are are highlighting the very talented and super organized CT Member and CT Team Leader, DJ (dj_W). DJ joined the Plain Digital Wrapper CT team in 2009 and earlier this offered to take on the role of team leader for the CT when the position became available (and we are so glad she did!). She has been on several creative teams since she started scrapping in 2006. Besides PDW, she currently creates for JillDZines (the second CT she ever joined) as well as Kimeric Kreations and Sherwood Studio, both of whom she describes as “great friends” she met right here at Plain Digital Wrapper.

DJ originally purchased some papers and stickers to make pages for her grandchildren but admits to never creating a single page with those paper supplies. “I decided if I scanned the papers I could use them more than once.  Then I realized there were lots of papers and elements on the Internet and that seemed much easier. I was hooked. Discovered a site called Scrap Outside the Box (which no longer exists), downloaded some freebies, did a couple challenges and knew I’d never use the paper supplies. I joined the CT there in 2006 and joined a couple personal CTs right after that.”

DJ shared the following information about herself.

What was your favorite childhood toy or game? My favorite game as a child was jacks.

What flavor of drink would you be? Lemon, or maybe cherry, guess I could just go for Cherry lemonade and have both.

What are your hobbies or pastimes? My favorite pastimes are spending time with my grandchildren, traveling, gardening, and photography. I love reading,
puzzles (jigsaw, Sudoku, logic, crosswords) and digital scrapbooking.

If you were a superhero – what would your “power” be and why? I’d want to be like the Flash and be able to move from one place to another at top speed.
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? If I was a crayon I’d be purple-any shade, but lavender or lilac are my favorites.

What would you do with a million dollars? If I had a million dollars I’d make some renovations to our house and hire a housekeeper so I’d have more time-then take off and travel.

What is your favorite snack to scrap with? Chocolate-usually have some Hershey’s Bliss or Andes mints in my drawer-a fact that my grandchildren have
discovered so they tend to disappear quickly.

Do you sing in the shower or car? I don’t sing period! I’m totally tone deaf-so I let others make the music and I enjoy listening!

What is your weakness? My biggest weakness is spending way too much time on my computer.

What is your biggest pet peeve? My biggest pet peeve is people who don’t really listen. You have a conversation one day and a few days later they ask
the same question or come back with “you never told me that.” Drives me crazy.

Wii, Playstation, X-box or No, thank you? We have a Playstation which I NEVER use. I prefer and spend way too much time on games on the computer.

What PDW designer inspires you the most? I think the PDW designer that inspires me most is Kimeric Kreations-that’s why I asked her to be on her CT. I love her style and the colors. I never have trouble finding the element I need in one of her kits and so many of her kits work together that I can mix and match easily.

What one thing is essential for putting you in a creative mood? I have to have a photograph or idea to scrap to get started. Can’t do anything with a kit unless it really works for some photo-usually not hard because I have tons of photos of the grands, my kids, and all kinds of heritage and travel photos. My
sister is also into photography-we’ve done several photo treks together and she lets me use any of hers that I want.

What is your all-time favorite kit? My favorite kit has changed so many times, I could never pick just one.

If you could choose only one type of element to scrap with, what would it be? If I could only have one type of element if would have to be flowers, they pop up in almost every LO I make.

What subject(s) do you scrap most? My grandkids are what I scrap the most.

What’s the scene when you scrap? I’m lucky enough to have an extra bedroom that I’ve turned into an office-scrapping spot. I have my computer and
printer and tons of bookcase space. The room is very organized-my desk is totally cluttered. Its quiet when I scrap.

How many pages do you usually do from one kit? Most kits I only make 2 or 3 layouts.

Do you print your layouts? I usually print my own layouts in 8X8 and put them in albums. However, I do frequently make books at Shutterfly as gifts for the
grandkids .

How many layouts do you usually complete in month? I make anywhere from 10-20 Layouts in a month.

What style of scrapbooking do you find the most challenging for you and why? I think the fantasy layouts are the most challenging. My style tends to be more simple and straightforward with the photo as the most important part of the layout. I love a soft almost grungy look to a layout.

DJ has inspired us with these layouts during her time at Plain Digital Wrapper:

This is one of my all time favorites-a photo I love, the colors in the kit were perfect and it all just came together.

Layout created with Sunrise Sunset by Kimeric Kreations.

This one has some of Noah’s first photos, including one with his grandfather.

Layout created with the PDW Collab Baby of Mine and Candy Wrappers: Flavor J by Scraps of Candy.

I love this one because its another of my favorite photos and the colors were just right!

Layout created with the PDW Collab Sunny Days are Here Again for the Some Assembly Required Template Challenge.

These are photos my husband took of Ella and they really capture her personality.  This is pretty different from my usual style.

Created using Love-a-Lot Kit and a template from Basic Principle Vol. 2 both by JoHanna.

This is a favorite because I like to remember that I once looked like this (LOL) and because I love the kit.

Layout created with Love’s Blush Kit and chat template both by Southern Creek Designs.

Thank you DJ for sharing a little about yourself with us and for all you do to help make PDW great.

This post is part of a series on our blog that will introduce you to the designers and team members that work behind the scenes at Plain Digital Wrapper to make it a fun-loving, digi-family. This week we are spotlighting another new-to-PDW staff member, Jenni (aka Ozegirl). Thanks to her sweet spirit and amazing talent, Jenni has already made some beautiful contributions to PDW in her short time with us. Jenni joined the Plain Digital Wrapper CT in June of this year.

She describes her scrapping style as having no particular style.  “I scrap to the photo and the kit – one of my designers said she loves receiving pages from me as I always surprise her – she never quite knows how I will interpret her kit – I take that as a compliment”.

Jenni has been scrapbooking since 2004 and started “paper” scrapper when her second son got married. However, she was never really a complete paper scrapper since, even back then, every page had some sort of digital element to it. “I loved printing on ribbon and canvas and enjoyed ‘playing around’ with photos and text/journaling.” It didn’t take much time for her to change from paper to a strictly digital approach to scrapbooking.

“By 2005, apart from hybrid projects I was a fully fledged digiscrapper.  I have four children of my own and my husband has 4 also so between us we have 1 granddaughter and 9 grandsons so I have a lot of family to scrap – apart from the fact that I love my computer, photographic programs and actions it does not put too much of a dent in the bank balance.  Digiscrapping Highlights include being contacted by TDS asking if they could feature a hybrid project I did and being published in Australian Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.”

For someone who started out meshing both paper and digital, it should come as no surprise that she is also a hybrid scrapbooker. “I embrace hybrid scrapping completely and when my granddaughter Ameeka comes home from overseas I enjoy nothing more than hybrid scrapping with her.  She came home to Perth from California during her school holidays and we scrapped a wooden keepsake box for her best friend here who she still keeps in constant contact with.” She said she also makes a lot of CD Albums for her young grandson. “They are easy for him to handle and once treated with a High Shine Glaze are virtually indestructible.”

Jenni shared the following with us in her interview:

If you could relive a day from your past, what would it be? Can I turn this one around a little…lol? I was extremely close to my maternal grandfather and he was fascinated by everything…I would love to relive a day with him – and yet – this is the turning around part…show him computers, faxes, smartphones etc. He would get such a kick out of all the new techno stuff – so it would be going back but taking the new with me

What flavor of drink would you be? Oh Lemon, Lime and Bitters – delish!!

What is your greatest accomplishment? My four children – all wonderful human beings, kind, compassionate and accomplished, happy, healthy and loved.

What is your favorite snack to scrap with? Chocolate or almonds and cashews – if they are all mixed up together that is pure bliss!  A steady stream of coffee is a must too!!

Do you sing in the shower/car? Only if I’m alone – a primary school teacher once told me to move my lips but make sure no sound came out.  When alone I sing with gusto though.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, who would you want to be there with you? Bear Grylls

What is your weakness? Babies/toddlers – I wish someone would leave one on my doorstep – or at least a baby orangutan.

You just inherited the Witch’s Candy House from Hanzel and Gretel, what do you do now? Move my scrap room, computers etc. into the Witch’s Candy House but leave all cleaning products etc. in my original home – there is no place for them here!

Wii, Playstation, X-box or No, thank you? Wii = for the exercises, not the games – I am not a game person although I did get caught up in Zoo World on FaceBook and had to stop because I was spending too much time caring for my animals.

If you could choose only one type of element to scrap with, what would it be? Now that is a difficult question and I cannot really answer – but I tell you which element causes me the most angst – it is the simple button – where to place it – it is the one element I place and move, and place and move…

Do you have a designated scrapping spot? I have my own scrap room – Fred and I used to share it but I slowly pushed him out – now he has his own room too for all his computer fun.

How many pages do you usually do from one kit? What is the most pages you have ever done from a single kit?  I often do two but if I am doing an album I prefer to stay with the one kit for constituency – I have made 12 x 12 albums of 60 pages, 8 x 8 and lots of wooden shaped albums using just the one kit.

What advice would you give to a new digital scrapbooker? Always follow your heart – if it looks good to you then it is good – it is your memory you are scrapping.  Google is your friend – there is a tutorial for everything you ever need to know about the program you are using – search and you will find. Never be afraid to ask – fellow scrappers are the friendliest, most helpful bunch and are not only happy to help but enjoy helping.

What fellow scrapper’s gallery most inspires you and why?  Anita (modgee) is the most amazing scrapper and I love that we often work on the same kits and yet she has a softer style than me – her pages always blow me away with their creativity.

What keeps you scrapping? I could not imagine my life without scrapping.  I could never draw – what I saw in my minds eye was vastly different than what appeared on paper – I was left frustrated – I have a wonderful imagination and creativie mind so scrapping allows that part of me to evolve and continue to create.  I would love to be able to look back on my life through scrap pages and I am sure my children and grandchildren will cherish the pages I do.

Have you taken any digital scrapbooking classes you have found particularly helpful? Yes, Jessica Sprague and Linda Sattgast – both wonderful teachers – classes taken have included, Easy Page Design, Shadow techniques and a class on scrapping with Tablets – I only use a tablet and pen, never a mouse, and a keyboard for typing purposes only.

Jenni continues to inspired us at PDW with layouts like these:

This layout was made for the Journal Me This Challenge at PDW using One for the Boys by Kimeric Kreations. Doing this challenge brought back so many childhood memories – things I hadn’t thought about for years and I became quite nostalgic remembering just how much fun my brother and I had as children. You can read the complete journaling in the gallery (image is linked).

I love the brightness and motion in this page (created with One for the Boys by Kimeric Kreations) of my grandson Kylan being a typical boy.  I have to rely mainly on photos of him growing as my son and his family live overseas, but he is so like his Daddy that I can almost ‘be there’.  When I talk to him on Skype he is a little livewire and constantly runs to his room to get something else to show me while I patiently wait his return to the computer camera.

My granddaughter Ameeka and Kylan having silly, simple, sweet, summertime fun in their backyard.  I loved the bright colours in this kit, Backyard Buzz ScrapKit by ScrapDZines,  and Ameeka had to wait so long for a little baby brother or sister that I delight in seeing them enjoying each other so much.

My daughter Gwenni is a team member of the Pukka Chukkas and played Elephant Polo in Nepal.  The World Elephant Polo Association raises money for charities around the world.  They also take  mountain bikes – played polo with them too – and then donated them to the village.  The Pukka Chukkas chosen charity is for Multiple Sclerosis.  She is looking forward to the 2011 Championships in November. This was created using Creating Memories by Southern Creek Designs.

I ordered and had delivered ‘Big Foot’ for Kylan’s 3rd birthday – he was so excited at the big parcel arriving for him from his Gran.  Well!! Big Foot terrified him at first and it took a little time for Kylan to warm to him but now they are firm friends.  With this particular page I loved how I could colour all the frames with different papers and the dimensions and layers came together nicely.  I like bulk in my paper scrap albums and love layering.  I find it difficult to just…stop… This was created using the PDW Collab: Happy Birthday to Me.

We hope Ozegirl has inspired you as much as she does us. Happy Scrapping!

This week we are highlighting the talents of Anita (modgee). You can check out her gallery here. Anita is fairly new to the PDW Creative Team but had this to say about her experience so far. “I am really enjoying being on the CT. This new opportunity is wonderful. I wanted to be part of a friendly digi home, and being able to get more involved in challenges, and even hosting them, has given me a new outlet for my creativity.”

Anita shared the following in our interview with her:

What one thing would you want on a deserted island and why? Well, a laptop with high-speed internet, (I know that’s technically 2 things, but hey it’s a bundled package) then I could keep in touch with everyone at home, and of course still be able to scrap.

What was your favorite childhood toy or game and why? Probably my Spirograph. I loved to create the beautiful patterns. I’d do it for hours and staple them all together like a book so I could look at them over and over. Hmm, I guess this creativity in me has been going on for quite some time.

What are you hobbies/pastimes? I’m gonna have to say  Photography, Scrapping , Reading, Gardening ( although that has gone from a huge garden to beautiful pots on a patio garden.  I’ve done some Quilting, which I thoroughly enjoyed learning and applying. In 2005, I made each family member and some friends, about a dozen or so, lap quilts for Christmas.

If you were a crayon what colour would you be? Red!!! …or yellow, or pink, or blue, orange, green, violet…oh just one?

Were you named after anyone/who? NO…actually my Mum and Dad couldn’t agree on my name, so they and my three Aunties all put names in a hat, and my Dad’s pick of Anita was chosen…makes me feel so special.

What would you do with a million dollars? mmmm…. are you kidding????? …. I’d have a ball…

What is your greatest accomplishment? I’d have to say Parenting. I loved doing it and I wanted to get it right, (I am a bit of a perfectionist…). It felt very natural to me and I didn’t encounter too many difficulties. I have three grown children who are well-adjusted, smart, and balanced adults and who are my best friends.

Do you sing in the shower or car? I love to sing anywhere. I was given a gift of a Karaoke machine and sing my heart out with the stereo in the living room. I really LOVE The Beatles.

What is your biggest pet peeve? For me, it’s mispronunciation and spelling. I believe if you are going to do anything you should do it right. These are two things I worked hard on in my parenting. Phonics was a big thing for me, and knowing the right word, and the correct spelling, were accomplishments I wanted for my children. [If you have these things] you have knowledge and knowledge is power!

What PDW designer inspires you the most? What is it you relate to in her designs? I have recently accepted a CT position with Kim of Kimeric Kreations. I love her work  [especially] her beautiful colour combinations and the variety of pretty papers. She inspires me to use those papers and to make my design striking with them rather than just relying on the embellishments to decorate. Here is one page I love using Kimeric Kreations Sunrise Sunset Kit.

What  program do you scrap with? Photoshop 7, which I didn’t know a thing about a  year  ago, except what I saw in the galleries stunned me and made me want to learn how to use a  program that would allow infinite more options than the simple Scrapbooking Program I bought at Staples in the beginning. So I bought it and started reading tutorials, till I figured it out. There’s still a lot to learn and I can hardly wait. I now own CS4 and I am slowly trying new things with it, but not using it full time yet.

Were/are you a paper scrapper also? No. Five years ago when my daughter married, the gift she wanted was a Wedding Album Scrap Book with some elements so she could scrap their photos. I went to Micheal’s and, oh my gosh, I instantly fell in love with all the cute little bags of embellies and alphas, and papers and oh my, maybe I want to do this too!!! But that day was about my gift and I chose all the cutest wedding things I could find, was horrified at the price, but so pleased with my purchase. On the way home, I start wondering if I could do anything like this on my computer. I goggled digital scrap booking and the hits were…Holy Smokes!! I can do it here!! Went to Staples and bought my little program and thought it was wonderful, I was hooked.

If you  could choose only one type of element to scrap with, what would it be? This is a really hard question; there are so many wonderful elements to choose from…..only one???? I’m so torn. I guess I’d want PAPER because  really you could do anything with it, but I do love masks, and ribbons, and of course my hearts.

What can be found on most of your pages? Hearts or Words Art Expressions of Love (or both)…after all that’s why I scrap, to leave behind a (semi)-documented history in photos and stories, which of course are filled with love memories.

What subject(s) do you scrap most? I guess I”d have to say my four Grandchildren. Now that my children are grown (I do scrap them too) but I mostly post the Gkids. They are cute and they usually have a funny story to go with the photo.

What’s the scene when you scrap? Quiet, organized, and comfy. We (hubby and I)  have a den where he built built-ins with two desks (he’s a computer techie ;) ) and shelving, so I have everything I need right at my fingertips. I also see that his desk is very messy and cluttered while I, being the neat freak that I am, sit here in relative organization and neatness.

Here are a few of my favorite layouts by Modgee to inspire you.

Happy Scrapping!

This week we are getting to know Claudette, known around digiland as mrscwooddell. You can view Claudette’s gallery here.

Claudette has five kids and two step kids and has been married for 11 years “this go around”.

Claudette started scrapping when she was a kid after her mom bought her one of those huge 17×11 albums for her keepsakes.  In the 90’s she started rubber stamping and then began to use those in her scrapbooks.  She was a product rep for for Stampin’ Up for a while before moving over to Close To My Heart because she liked their products more. When Close to My  Heart added their scrapbook line in she said she was “TOTALLY hooked”.  Around 2002, she started printing hugware graphics to put in her scrapbooks and eventually figured out how to use Photoshop 7 to get rid of the backgrounds on the jpgs. She says this was what got her headed toward digital scrapbooking and once she figured out that she could save her pages and come back later to finish she hasn’t stopped. She currently scraps using Photoshop CS5.

Although she has only been with the Plain Digital Wrapper  CT for a few months now, she has quickly fit right into the PDW family and we are excited about the enthusiasm she brings to everything she does. She is also currently on the creative teams for Booland Designs and Kim Cameron Designs.

Claudette shared the following information:

Do you Hybrid Scrap? Yes, I hybrid scrap still, because after all that is how I started digital scrapping in the first place, I guess I was hybrid before it was cool.  I made an accordion baby album last week, and am in the middle of making another word album for my hubby that says dad. (Yes I know we passed father’s day already, but I can’t work on it when he is there all the time….lol)

What was your favorite childhood toy or game? My favorite childhood toy was my Barbies, they even inspired me to sew, so that I could make even cooler clothes and house stuff.

If you could relive a day from your past, what would it be? If I could relive a day from my past it would be one of the days before my dad passed away, I miss him so much, and I wish that he could have been here to see my twins and now to see our grandbaby.  He would have loved them. And by the same token, my kids and even my step kids would have loved him.  You can never have enough positive influences in your life.

What are your hobbies or pastimes? My other hobbies besides scrapping and stalking Plain Digital Wrapper are cross stitch, Photography, Rubber Stamping, Sewing, and Drawing.

If you were a superhero – what would your “power” be and why? If I could have a super power it would have to be “Mind Reading” after having 4 teenagers in the house at once, it would have been very handy to know what was “REALLY” going on.

Were you named after anyone? If so, who? I was named after my great grandfather, sort of, the doctors told my mom she was having a boy, so they only picked out a boy name…then I showed up and they realized the doctors were wrong.  So Instead of William Claude, I was dubbed, with Claudette…and my brother eventually got the William Claude name three years later.  But don’t call either of us Claude, because we don’t like it.

Do you sing in the shower/car? I not only sing in the car I have the whole stage act going on!  I turn it as loud as it will go too so that I can’t hear myself sing…lol

What is your weakness? My weakness is food, and shopping for cool computer stuff…lol

Are you ticklish? Where? I am only ticklish when I want to be, unless it is my feet, and I can’t be blamed for kicking you if you go there.

Wii, Playstation, X-box or No, thank you? I love the Wii fitness games.  My favorite is the Hula Hoop game! I am the reigning champ on that one.  I need to get up and play it more often so my avatar on there will get thinner.

What inspires you as a scrapbooker? For scrapping inspiration I look at other people pages, I love to get ideas from lots of different pages, sometime magazine ads will catch my attention and sometimes I will notice something random and be inspired to scrap.

What PDW designer inspires you the most? What is it you relate to about her designs? One of my favorite designers at Plain Digital Wrapper…OMG I have to pick one? Wow, I am in love with KimEric Kreations, I love the way all her kits look and feel.  I am a BIG fan of real looking elements and papers and Kim has TONS of those in her kits.  And there are several others here that are just fabulous as well.

What is your least favorite and most favorite part of digiscrapping? My most favorite part of digital scrapbooking is the fact that it is quick, I don’t have to spend hours digging my stuff out, and putting it all away.  If I have 15 minutes I can power it up play a bit and save and come back when I have more time.  My least favorite part of digital scrapping is I wish I had an endless supply of ink and paper so I could print every page as soon as I was done with it.  I sometimes need that gratification.

What can be found on most of your pages? One element I have to have is flowers; I can make a whole page with flowers. Love gardening so flowers are a must.

What subject(s) do you scrap most? My most scrapped subject is my kids, and now my grandson too.  My daughter {11 years old} is even getting jealous because I have been scrapping the grandbaby so much…lol

How many pages do you usually do from one kit? What is the most pages you have ever done from a single kit? I usually make 2 pages from each kit, not always though.  The most pages I have done from a single kit was 20, and it wasn’t really a big kit either, just very versatile.

What advice would you give to a new digital scrapbooker? To all the new digi-scrappers out there, my best advice is keep trying.  Watch videos and learn new techniques.  I promise you will NEVER know it all.

How would you describe your scrapbooking style? I would have to call my style eclectic, because I get inspiration from so many things.  I will try anything once…

Do you print your layouts? I print my layouts on my wide format printer at home.  I have several 12×12 albums, a few 9×9 albums, some 8×8 albums, some 6×6 albums, some 11×8.5 albums, some 8.5×11 albums, some 4×6 albums and a 5×7 album.  {Well, I have been at this for a while.}

Why do you scrap? The one main reason I scrap is because in researching our family tree for the last 9 years, the one thing that is mostly missing, is the stories…it isn’t enough to see great pictures of my family years ago, I want to know where they were when it was taken, why were they there, who took the picture, and mostly who is in the photo, gosh I have a stack of photos that NO one knows who they are, but they kept them and passed them down.  Just some nameless person in my tree who is waiting to have their story told.

Some of Claudette’s favorite pages “of the moment” include:

Jake and his belly button:  He recently discovered he has a belly button and I get such a kick out of him trying to raise his shirt to see it if you ask him where his belly button is…

Created using Pool Party Kit by Kim Cameron Designs.

Jake luvs pawpaw and the coordinating page, Jake’s Birthday Nap: One of my favorites because of the colors and fun elements.  I think it is one of the simplest pages I have made recently but it has an ATC feel to it to me, and I used to love making those…lol

Ten Tiny Fingers ELements, Solid Papers, Patterned Papers, and Word Papers by Tracy King.

Almost Gone: is one of my favorites because it took me a while to be able to even look at these pictures and it was very difficult to scrap this memory.  I think the bright colors and playfulness of the kit lighten the dread and gloom of the subject…it gives it a brighter side, and he is almost all better now, after 4.5 years of surgeries and doctors offices.

Created with Bumps and Bruises Collab kit from Daisies & Dimples.

Discovery Science Place Pages are my favorites because of the fact that I got so many photos on one page and it actually is interesting.  I LOVE the kit that I used and the sketch I created to use on it.  Amoung my part time jobs  is freelance photographer so my kids get stuck hanging out and waiting for me to shoot a scene, but in this case they were actually eager to hang out at the Discovery Science Place.  There were tons of things to look at and play with, and they got in for free…

Created with In the Moment by KimEric Kreations.

And if I have to stop here then I pick this recent page for my badge album brag book swap.  I just love watching my grandson, Jake as he explores his world.  Everything is so fascinating and interesting to him.  He has to put his fingers on it or in it and it is uber cute to watch!

Created using the Plain Digital Wrapper Brag Book Challenge Freebies for June 2011.

In addition to being on the Creative Team, Claudette also is part of our Unwrapped Team, the team that creates the awesome gifts we hand out on the blog, in the forum and on Facebook, and has also agreed to start hosting a journal challenge here at Plain Digital Wrapper starting next month.

Happy scrapping and memory capturing!

Featured CT: Jemy70

June 8, 2011

This post is part of a series on our blog that will introduce you to the designers and team members that work behind the scenes at Plain Digital Wrapper to make it a fun-loving, digi-family. We would love to get to know you better as well, so if you aren’t already hanging out with us in the forum, please take a moment to say good morning to us, introduce yourself, and find some inspiration from our many challenges!

This week we are shinning the spotlight on Jennifer, best known around the digital community as Jemy 70.

Jennifer first started as a rubber stamper/card maker back in the mid-90s, and then began paper scrapping after her first son was born in 2001. She admits though that paper scrapbooking was not ever something she enjoyed very much compared to making cards. She switched over to digital scrapbooking a couple years ago after a friend got her interested. She said she didn’t really understand what it was all about but after doing some research, realized most people simply used a program that she had learned for work already, PSE7, which made it an easy transition for her. After about 6 months of digiscrapping, she decided “to be brave” and apply for her first CT. She has been on the site CT for PDW for about a year. Additionally she also is a member of the creative teams for Elise’s Pieces, Sherwood Studio, Spinky Dink Scraps, Rainy Dayz Designs (templates) and Jen C Designs. Jennifer shared this about herself:

What was your favorite childhood toy or game? The toys I remember most are my Sunshine Family (kind of like Barbie?s), and the Adventure People sets. One of my favorite games was a memory game called Husker Du.

What flavor of drink would you be? Based on what I drink the most of, I guess I would be water or coffee!

What are your hobbies or pastimes? I enjoy reading, computers, iPod games, cross stitch and movies.

Were you named after anyone? For my middle name, I am named after my aunt. My first name is really common and there always seems to be a ton of Jennifers!

What would you do with a million dollars? I am more of a saver than a spender, but I would probably get a different house since I don?t like our neighbor. I would also want to donate money to a local animal shelter that I do volunteer work for.

What is your favorite snack to scrap with? I try not to eat much right now since I scrap mostly at night during the summer, but when the kids were at school, I like to scrap with my coffee and sometimes a few pieces of chocolate.

Do you sing in the shower or car? I always sing in the car.

What is your favorite color? I like jewel tones and earth tones the most.

You just inherited the Witch’s Candy House from Hanzel and Gretel, what do you do now? I am a real candy-holic, so I would probably eat it!

Wii, Playstation, X-box or No, thank you? I love our Wii! I watch movies from Netflix with it, and also love playing the games. I think I like it more than my kids sometimes. Lol. I especially like the Lego game series. Our newest is Lego Harry Potter.

What PDW designer inspires you the most? What is it you relate to about her designs? I have to say that I have seen kits from all the PDW designers that I love. I can’t pick just one!

What can be found on most of your pages? I almost always have some kind of string or stitching.

What subject(s) do you scrap most? Almost all my pages are of my kids and family members. Some people are really good at the all journaling pages, but that is not my strong point.

What’s the scene when you scrap? I am almost always watching t.v. while I scrap, unless it?s a show Ireally need to concentrate on or a movie with subtitles. If I really need to get things done, I prefer to be by myself with no distractions, but sometimes I do scrap at coffee shops with a friend.

What advice would you give to a new digital scrapbooker? As a new digital scrapper, I really enjoyed doing challenges. It helped me experiment with different techniques and styles. Don’t be afraid to use templates!

Why do you scrap/What keeps you scrapping? I find it relaxing, and I enjoy learning more about Photoshop. I like the fact that I?ll be able to easily make multiple copies of pages for my kids, if they want them!

Do you print your layouts? If so,

a. Book or single pages? I do single pages since I don?t scrap chronologically.

b. 8×8 or 12×12? (or 8.5×11)? I have printed 8X8 and 12X12, but prefer the 8X8.

c. What is your favorite place to print from? I have printed from Persnickety and Scrapping Simply and both were good.

How many layouts do you usually complete in month? I usually average around 20.

How would you describe your scrapbooking style? I prefer to have a lot of photos on my pages. I don’t usually have much journaling?

What style of scrapbooking do you find the most challenging for you and why? For the above reason, I find the one photo pages/white space pages a challenge, although sometimes I do have that one photo I really want to highlight.
