You can check out the Variety Pack thread here, and today I am going to share two of the challenges with you.
Hosted by Anita (modgee)
Your challenge is to scrap a page about a funny saying, a mispronunciation, anything that got your funny bone in those preschool, toddler days…
Here is her fabulous and funny page for inspiration:

This challenge looks like a lot of fun! And if you play along, this is what you will receive as your participation bonus!

Hosted by Candy (ScrapsofCandy)
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements both have some very cool filters already built into them, however, the sketch filters that come with it Candy could never get just the way she wanted without lots of playing. So she likes to use another filter for this technique: the Find Edges Filter.
Here is an example of a photo she converted to a sketch using the Find Edges Filter:

Your challenge is to use this technique to create a photo sketch then create a layout that includes both the before and after photo. I can’t wait to see the pages you all create for this one!
Here is the participation bonus for playing along in the Technique challenge:

Next week I will share two more Variety Pack Challenges with you here, but in the meantime you can check them out yourself…and I hope that you play along!
Our regular challenges that run from the beginning to the end of the month, if you are looking for some additional fun- you can find them here.
Stay tuned to our blog as we share with you about other challenges that you can take part of every month and earn some fabulous goodies just for playing along!

This post is part of a series on our blog that will introduce you to the designers and team members that work behind the scenes at Plain Digital Wrapper to make it a fun-loving, digi-family. We would love to get to know you better as well, so if you aren’t already hanging out with us in the forum, please take a moment to say good morning to us, introduce yourself, and find some inspiration from our many challenges!
This week we are highlighting the beautiful work of Linda (franlk). You can check out her inspirational gallery here. Linda shared the following information about herself.’
What was your favorite childhood toy or game? Not being a very girly girl, it was unusual that I had a large, soft skinned, fat doll that was my favorite. That is until one day my mischievous younger brother disappeared from my mom’s sight. After much confusion, she opened a closet door to find him with the scissors and my doll. Did he cut off the hair? Oh no, he had cut off the arms and legs! I didn’t even ask for another doll after that!
What is your greatest accomplishment? Well, I have thought of several things. The first thing that popped into my head was being a National Board Teacher, where I learned more about by teaching than at any other time. But then I got real—my marriage of 44 years would be the greatest. I married the greatest guy and love him more today than those many years ago.
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why, yellow of course! It reminds me of sunshine and wonderful days. I would hope that color would shade my personality!
What program do you scrap with? I scrap with CS4.
What would you like to learn in digiscrapping? When I retire for the second time and really have free moments, I want to learn Illustrator and to design. Being an elementary teacher, I love to draw and want to do it on the computer.
What subject(s) do you scrap most? The cutest, most handsome, funniest, most intelligent grandson of all!
Do you have a designated scrapping spot? Right where I am—in my chair, feet on ottoman, with the T.V. blaring away!
Why do you scrap or what keeps you scrapping? I am a self taught PhotoShop user. I learned so I could teach my fourth graders how to use Elements. Then came that glorious day when we were told we would become grandparents! I discovered digital scrapbooking and a new hobby was born! This way I make scrap books not only for myself, but for my daughter-in-law and her mom.
Here are a few of Linda’s layout that I think show off her creative style:

Created using Blush by Starving Artist Designs.

Created using Fetching Fireflies by Digital Ink.

Created using Pink Cheeks and Brown Eyes by Dragonfly Beach Designs.

Created using Neutral and Elegant Overlays both by Southern Creek Designs.

Created using Bulk Candy: Mix 1 Template by Scraps of Candy and Paste Optional Designs’s I Wish and I Adore.
Thank you, Linda, for adding your creative inspiration to the gallery and Creative Team at Plain Digital Wrapper.
